IRRIGATED
HAYFIELD (11202):
Vegetation in this land-use type includes either
grasses or alfalfa which are cut and stored for forage for domestic
livestock. The grasses may either be planted or be volunteers,
but in all cases, some level of cultivation is undertaken. This
type was mapped when it could be identified in the field. Otherwise,
it was usually left in the more general Agricultural Land class
(11200) or placed in the related
row and field crops (11201).
DISTRIBUTION:
Hay is grown in nearly
every county in the state on more acreage than any other crop.
