Vegetation in this non-irrigated land-cover type includes seed producing annual grasses, such as barley, cereal rye, oats, and wheat. They are normally planted in the fall and harvested in spring.
DISTRIBUTION:
Dryland grain and seed crops are established on fertile soils on flat to gently rolling terrain. This type occurs throughout California but is most widespread in the Great Central Valley and to a lesser extent in coastal plains and valleys.
