Similar to Desert Saltbush Scrub (36110), but plants often more widely spaced and with most species succulent chenopods.
SITE FACTORS:
Poorly drained soils with extremely high alkalinity and/or salt content. Often with high water table and with salt crust at the surface.
DISTRIBUTION:
Moist valley bottoms and lake beds scattered throughout the Sonoran Desert, Mojave Desert, Owens Valley, and nearby areas, usually below about 4,000 feet.
