HUCKLEBERRY OAK CHAPARRAL (37542) :


A low (1-2m), evergreen sclerophyllous chaparral largely dominated by Huckleberry Oak. Plants active only during the snow-free season (April-November).

SITE FACTORS:

Dry ridges, xeric exposures, and windswept places in the montane coniferous forests, usually from 1,000-10,000 feet.

DISTRIBUTION:

Cascade-Sierra Range south to Fresno County; North Coast and Siskiyou Ranges south to Mendocino County.
