Recommended Reading for Biogeographers
Quammen, D., 1996. The Song of the Dodo. An excellent book about the history of biogeography from Darwin and Wallace through the major (& minor) developments in the field, leading to the equilibrium theory of island biogeography and the birth of conservation biology.
Darwin, C., 1859. On the Origin of Species by
Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the
Struggle for Life. A cogent argument explaining his theory of
evolution
by means of natural selection.
